1. A Tale Of Two Sisters

A tale of two sisters is a psychological horror drama film that depicts the story of Su Mi, who reunites with her beloved sister Su Yeon, and they both return to live at their country home. Their father, who was a widower, had remarried and the siblings are indigent of his new wife. As both the siblings try to resume their regular lives, strange and eerie things start happening in the house, which leads to very shocking disclosures.

The host is a horror movie about a mysterious creature that emerges from the contaminated water that was caused by American military personnel who had dumped chemicals into South Korea’s Han River. The creature abducts the daughter of a vendor Go Ah Sung, Song Kang Ho and his family decide that they are the only ones who can save her.

 

3. I Saw The Devil

Kyung Chul, a taxi driver, comes across a female motorist who is stranded in a broken-down vehicle. He pulls over but does not assist her. Her head is discovered in a nearby river, and her fiancé, Kim Soo Hyeon, a trained secret agent, attempts to track down the killer. Things begin to go awry when he discovers the murderer, Kyung Chul. Kim Soo Hyeon lets the killer go after brutally beating him and a manic game of cat and mouse begins.

 

4. The Mimic

The mimic follows the story between a mother, and a child that she uses as a replacement for the one she lost, the catch here is that the child may or may not be Hee-Yeon’s child, Jun Seo goes missing five years ago, and to heal from that trauma they move to the countryside. Here a legend follows that there is a ghost that mimics human voices. Hee-Yeon then finds a little kid in the forest whose voice is similar to her lost kid, and she takes her in. the mystery then follows around the little girl as to what she exactly is.

 

5. The Closet

The closet is a bone-chilling horror movie about Sang Won, a widow who moves to a new house with his daughter, Ina. Ina then says that she has made an imaginary friend, after which she vanishes. After which a mysterious man comes and tells Sang Won to look for his child in the closet. Ina is the latest child missing in the thread of missing children. The movie has a twist at the end and it doesn’t back down from voicing the societal ills such as child abuse and neglect.

 

6. Alive

Alive is a movie about a zombie apocalypse that is set in the modern-day world. The film became widely popular on the internet after the hit zombie movie Train to Busan. The protagonist tries to use current technology and equipment to keep him safe from the infected zombies. The setup of this movie is not that of a typical horror movie but it instills a fear in the viewers of the dangers of the zombies.

 

7. Thirst

Thirst is a mystery, thriller, and horror movie that shows a story about Sang Hyun, a priest who volunteers for an experimental procedure that may lead to a cure for a deadly virus. He dies but is brought back to life by a blood transfusion of an unknown origin as a vampire. In his new avatar, Sang Hyun is torn between faith and bloodlust and his new desire for his childhood friend’s wife, Tae Ju.

 

8. Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum

Gonjiam: haunted asylum is a movie based on an abandoned hospital, Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital that is located in Gwangju. Six individuals set out to live stream their experience at the haunted hospital, and things get worse when they begin their live stream and uncanny things start to happen.

 

9. The Divine Fury

The divine fury follows the story of Yong Hoo, a successful MMA fighter who doesn’t believe in God after losing his father in an accident when he was younger.

A wound appears in his palm, which leads to him turning to an exorcist for help but finds himself involved with evil forces.

 

10. Don’t Click

Don’t click is based on a very contemporary idea of not clicking onto a ‘forbidden video’. Jung Miregularly uploads videos online to earn extra cash. She then comes across a folder labeled; ‘forbidden video’, as curiosity pokes her, she contacts her sister’s boyfriend to help her crackdown on the encrypted file. After watching the video, Jung mi and her sister’s lives become a living nightmare, as they are constantly haunted by a presence that they can’t get rid of.
