10 K-Pop Idols Who Became Soloists

K Pop idols mostly start their careers in a group, but these idols released their solo tracks as a member or after departing from the group. These idols fearlessly displayed their unparalleled talent in front of the audience. They received hate and appreciation both at the same time. But they didn’t give up and continued to do what they always wanted to do.

1. Taeyeon

Taeyeon debuted with Girls’ Generation, and while she was still in the group, she started her debut career as a soloist in 2015 with her single I. She has since delivered several hit songs.

2. HyunA

HyunA debuted with Wonder Girls, but after her departure, she joined 4 Minutes under the CUBE Entertainment agency. She announced her departure from the group to start her solo career. She has released hit tracks like Bubble Pop! and Change.

3. B.I

Kim Hanbin debuted in IKON but announced his departure after a scandal. He started his solo career with Midnight Blue. He has collaborated with famous artists like Destiny Rogers and DeVita.

4. G-Dragon

G-Dragon debuted with BIGBANG and wrote several songs for the group. He released his solo album Heartbreak sold millions of copies. He went on a tour as a soloist in 2014.

5. Taemin

Taemin is the maknae of the boy band SHINee. He released his solo debut Danger which sold more than one hundred thousand copies. He also released Japanese tracks.

6. Lee Hyori

Lee Hyori debuted with FIN K.L and started her solo career a year after the dissolution. She has given the audience many hit numbers like 10 Minutes.

7. Jay Park

Jay Park was the leader of the boy band 2 PM, but he announced his departure. He started his Youtube channel after shifting to the United States. The covers got a lot of views. He started his label AOMG in 2013 and released hip-hop tracks.

8. Sunmi

Sunmi debuted in Wonder Girls and released her first solo track Full Moon while she was a member. After the band announced its disbandment, she released Gashina sold in large numbers.

9. Zico

Zico debuted in Bock B as a rapper. He started his solo career with the hit track Boys and Girls. He also produces songs and has collaborated with some famous singers.
