As we all know, an enormous part of 2020-2021 gave us elite suspense thrillers, murders, and action dramas. This year gave us some of the most striking villains, who we can’t forget and have us waiting with bated breath, hooked on to their actions and looks. Most of the villains we mention might not be villains, and even though we don’t romanticize criminal activity, these are some characters that had us hooked and made us go through a rollercoaster of emotions.

1. Vincenzo Cassano– Vincenzo

Vincenzo had us hooked, the way he carried his style, his cute tantrums, his friendship goals, and especially the bond he built over the episode was something all the viewers enjoyed, from the cute relationship to his emotional attachment with his mother, but most importantly the brotherhood, this villain was worth drooling.

 

2. Kang Soojin- True Beauty

She is the character we all loved, hated, and loved again; even though she portrayed a negative shade, her aura, standing up for her friends, and her sympathetic background, everything was relatable to us viewers, even when she did make mistakes, she dared to stand up on her feet again.

 

3. Lee Rang- Tale Of The Nine-Tailed Fox

One of the most loved characters of 2020, the sacrifice, in the end, had everybody in tears, his playful nature, his need for brotherly love, made him one of the cutest villains ever; he precisely showed us what it is to be human, he showed us what true family means.

 

4. Yoon Jong-Woo– Hell Is Other People (Strangers From Hell)

One of the most twisted dramas I have seen in a while, the ending had everybody shook, but still not enough reason to hate on our beloved Yoon Jong-Woo, through him we experienced something that people might face in their daily lives, even though the portrayal of the show was twisted, the emotions were raw, and through the beginning, the relatability didn’t phase-out.

 

5. Gu Seung-Joon- Crash Landing On You

Yes, our Crash Landing fame, Gu Seung- Joon, nobody understood the character initially. Still, nobody hated him by the end, it showed us what true love could do to you, and that one hand ticket tearing scene has become so iconic, this man could make us cry over a fictional character and still remember that years later.

 

6. Baek Hee Sung- Flower Of Evil

One of the most intriguing shows of the year, the character was complex, it even confused the watchers as to his intention, but the character development of BaekHee Sung, the changes he has shown.

 

7. Oh Ji-Soo– Extracurricular

Extracurricular gave us a peek at the life of students and what could go wrong; when you are confused and directionless, it serves as a reminder of the pressures and mistakes we can commit as kids; none of us can hate the characters. Still, all of us sympathize with this generation of kids.

 

8. Lee Eun Hyuk- Sweet Home

Sweet Home character Lee Eun Hyuk showed us characters of black and white. It is still debatable, but we cannot stop being awestruck at his transformation, the way he protected the kids, his love for others; this character did show us all of his vulnerabilities.

 

9. Jung Ba-Reum – Mouse

Jung Ba-Reum, easily the most controversial character in the recent Kdrama history, had us on a rollercoaster, from cheering him onto pure hatred for his character. From sympathizing with his character to not understanding the persona anymore, it showed us how even the most dangerous humans could get treated like lab rats and the importance of humanity overall. For his acting, he won the hearts of millions.

 

10. Kim Do- Gi- Taxi Driver

Taxi Driver, a revenge drama, follows a story of a group of people who set out to take revenge, headed by our boy Kim D-Gi, a silent man with dangerous moves. Still, his sincerity, empathy with the victims all of it had us moved, made us wish for his happiness.
