1. Rurouni Kenshin, 2012

I didn’t know it is possible to adapt an anime into a decent live-action film. I was going into this with low expectations since, as any anime fan knows. But fortunately, that isn't the case with this movie. The action is portrayed is worth watching.

2. Spirited Away, 2001

I am not a great anime fan, but I do like animes which are eye-soothing, emotional and which makes me numb. The harmonious blend of sight and sound into purely masterful art never fails to impress. Spirited away is for adults and children, both. While children may find it entertaining, fun, the story goes a lot deeper than what meets the eye. Words alone cannot describe this masterpiece.

3. I Want To Eat Your Pancreas, 2018

It's a very bittersweet, loving, cute movie. It teaches and also does make one question what life means to one person. A movie full of emotions, a movie that teaches us life is unpredictable, enjoy every moment of it, make the dark shades brighter by blending happy moments with it.

4. Seven Samurai, 1954

This is a legendary film, and classic for many reasons. There is no mystery why this film has been cited as one of the most influential films of all time. Perfect in every way, no wonder so many other film-makers must have been inspired by this one! A must watch!!!!!

5. Castle In The Sky, 1986

It is a timeless classic that will endure forever. A beautiful soundtrack has been played instrumentally from the start and with a voice in the end. Like the unforgettable and mysterious music, the story fantasy will captivate your imagination. If you haven't seen this movie yet, go ahead and watch it. You won't regret it.

6. Blade Of The Immortal, 2017

The movie is based on fighting and revenge, and cutting people down, so this isn't for the fainthearted or those who love cutesy flicks. It is a fantastic fantasy action thriller. Nonstop action through till the end. An absolute feast for sword and sandal martial arts fans.

7. Kiki's Delivery Service, 1989

It perfectly encapsulates the feeling of unease and anxiousness that comes with uncharted territory. But at the same time, it's not harmful, and it doesn't dwell on those emotions. Instead how the main character deals with everything, the evolution in her feelings, is quite cathartic. The details of this coming of age story are fantastic and moving.

8. The Wind Rises, 2013

The Wind Rises feels like a bit of a disappointment to some because of its plodding pace and niche subject matter, though it is emotional and inspiring. The whole movie is just spectacular from the plot to the animation, it’s one of those movies I wish to watch again for the first time.

9. My Neighbor Totoro, 1988

Quite an enjoyable movie, it is taken from multiple perspectives, and I feel like it’s your choice, on whether all of the adventures in the film were real or not. For me, the movie was heartwarming. This is not like animation movies these days which are cringing and cash grabs. The animation style and the music in it all fits so nicely in this movie. I recommend it.

10. Shoplifters, 2018

The movie ‘Shoplifters’ is undauntedly a masterpiece that will keep you indulging throughout with its captivating cinematography, detailing the daily prospects of a family of six. It’s a wonderful movie, and a somber one. The cast’s interaction is perfect, and despite the film depicting what could be the dreariness of survival, it is in fact, an affirmation of love.
