We are already a few months into 2023, and many new Anime series have premiered. The upcoming most anticipated anime include Solo Leveling, Attack on Titan, and Dr. Stone. Here is a list of the top ten most anticipated anime which created expectations (and pressure for creators) to get released in upcoming months. So 2023 is going to get exciting for anime fans. Some anime shows got announced to get released in 2024 as well.
1. Dr. Stone: New World (Part 1)
After being on hiatus for almost two years, Dr. Stone's anime returned in April 2023 with a new season. This anime series gained popularity in 2019 with its different concept- restoring humanity using science and technology. Senku aims to restore humanity, bring everyone back, and establish the Kingdom of Science. Tsukasa wants to build a society comprised of only the strongest warriors. After season 2, Dr. Stone will begin with the Exploration Arc.
2. Jujutsu Kaisen (Season 2)
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will continue its blast into a new arc after 6 July 2023. The new arc includes new characters- Fushiguro and Gojo Satoru's backstory. We would also get to see the Shibuya Incident Arc.
3. Bungo Stray Dogs (Season 5)
This year would be great for anime fans- after giving us season 4 (in January 2023) of the well-going anime Bungo Stray Dogs. In July 2023, a fifth Season of Bungo Stray Dogs has got scheduled for premier. This anime series would follow the story of members of the 'Armed Detective Agency' and their fight to protect the people of Yokohama. The members of the Agency have a 'gift' or supernatural powers which they use to accomplish tasks like solving mysteries, missions assigned, and running a business.
4. Bleach: Thousand Years Blood War (Part 2)
The new part of the long anime series, Bleach, would get released in July 2023- Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War ( next part- Separation). This anime has been ongoing for more than 20 years now.
5. Dark Gathering
Dark Gathering is an upcoming new anime series adapted from a supernatural and horror manga by Kanichi Kondou. Dark Gathering is said to get released in July 2023. This anime follows the life of Keitaro Gentoga, who gets haunted by his ability to attract spirits but tries to blend in with private tutoring. However, his life becomes more dangerous when his first student asks him to help her to find the soul that took her mother's life.
6. Demon Slayer: Swordsman Village Arc
After the first two successful seasons of the Demon Slayer series, it returns with a new arc and experience of new Hashiras in the Swordsman Village Arc. It will get released on 9 April 2023.
7. Solo Leveling
This Korean Manhwa is finally getting its anime adaptation. Solo Leveling got announced to get released in January 2024. It follows the story of Sung Jinwoo, a hunter who barely makes it out of a particular dungeon. He comes in contact with a System that allows him to 'level up' by fighting and defeating monsters. Because of his leveling up, Jinwoo quickly gains limitless strengths.
8. One Punch Man (Season 3)
One Punch Man follows the story of everyone's favorite hero Saitama. The first two seasons were a big hit, and the third one is on the way to finally making the most anticipated fight- Saitama versus Garou happen. One Punch Man season 3 is said to get released in December 2023.
9. Horimiya: Piece
Although the first season of the anime Horimiya brought the story to an end, Horiya- Piece will show the gap episodes not seen in the first season. Horimiya- Piece got scheduled to get released in July 2023. It brings back the staff and cast of the original Horimiya series that fans loved. The teaser got released earlier this year.
10. Kaiju No. 8
Kaiju No. 8 is a new upcoming Anime in 2024. If you liked 'Attack on Titan,' you might enjoy this anime. Kaiju is a Godzilla-like monster appearing in Japan for many years. A military unit called the Defense Corps got established to risk its life to protect people. Kafka Hibino is unsatisfied with his job as a sweeper and wants to join the Defense Corps. After failed attempts, he gives up on his dream. Kafka encounters a parasite-like Kaiju that gets into his mouth and turns him into a humanoid monster.
