Japanese movies have gathered such kind of international fame. That is because many Japanese horror movies have inspired the English people to remake them. Here is the list of the film, which is from a Japanese theatre.

1. The Ring

It is a remake of the Japanese film Ringu, directed by Hideo Nakata. This movie is, based on a novel written by Koji Suzuki. The Ring movie got released in the year 2002. "The Ring" is a Japanese story, which is based on real-life but the Original Ringu has a different story. This movie has sequels The Ring Two (2005) and The Rings (2017). Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, David Dorfman, Brian Cox, Jane Alexander, Lindsay Frost are the few actors who have acted in the first part of the film.

 

2. The Grudge

The director of the original movie is Takashi Shimizu. It got released in the year 2002. Many believe this movie to be base on a true story. In 2004, the Hollywood version got released. This movie has sequels but, the English remake was not as scary as the original one. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Behr, William Mapother, Clea Duvall are the few members of the casting crew in the Grudge's first part.

 

3. Pulse

The Pulse is a remake of the movie Kairo which is a 2001 Japanese techno horror film . Kiyoshi Kurusawa directed the original Kairo The English remake was by "Jim Sonzero" written by two, Wes Craven and Ray Wright. The casting crew includes Kristen Bell, Ian Somerhalder, Rick Gonzalez, Samm Levine, etc.

 

4. One Missed Call

It is a remake of a 2003 Japanese film of the same name.It is based on the novel written by "Yasushi Akimoto." Shannyn Sossamon, Edward Burns, Ana Claudia Talancon, and Ray Wise are few actors who have acted in the film. This movie has a few elements based on the movie Ringu.

 

5. Dark Water

This movie is about real life  incidents. The original name of the film is the same as the remake one. This movie is based on a short story. Koji Suzuki wrote it by the name Floating Water. Walter Salles directed the English version of the film. In this film, water is the symbol of paranormal activity. In the movie, Jennifer Connelly was "Dahlia" Ariel Gade was "Ceci" John C. Reilly as Mr.Murray and, Dougray Scott was Kyle Williams.

 

6. Don’t Look Up

This film did not gain much audience in Japan like the other horror films. The cast of this film includes Reshad Strike, Henry Thomas, Carmen Chaplin, and Kevin Corrigan. In English, Fruit Chan directed the movie Don't Look Up. Hideo Nakata is the director of the original Japanese film.

 

7. Apartment 1303 3D

Apartment 1303 is an original Japanese film. Ataru Oikawa is the director of the original movie. Apartment 1303 3D is the English version by the director Michael Taverna. The Japanese original is from the novel, Apartment 1303 written by Kei Oishi. Mischa Barton, Rebecca De Mornay, Julianne Michelle, and Corey Sevier have acted in this film.

 

8. Death Note

Death Note is based on the manga meaning comic books of Japan. The Japanese movie  also has the same name. Directors of this movie are Adam Wingrard and Charles and Vlas Parlapanides has  written it. The actors in the film are Nat Wolff, LaKeith Stanfield, Margaret Qualley, Shea Whigham, Willem Dafoe, etc.
