Music awards are yearly award ceremonies that recognize musical achievements in the business for a particular year. Performances by well-known performers are also usual during award events. Unlike other prizes, such as the Grammy determined by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Billboard Music Awards finalists are determined by album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring, and social engagement. 1. Japan Record Award

The Japan Record Awards are a prominent music awards program conducted yearly in Japan similar to the Grammy Awards, the Japan Composer's Association recognizes remarkable achievements. Until 2005, the show was broadcast on New Year's Eve, but it currently airs on TBS Japan on December 30 at 6:30 p.m. JST, with many announcers. EXILE holds the record for most victories with four.

2. MTV Video Music Awards Japan 

MTV Video Music Awards in the United States, by online voting from the same channel viewers. Initially, Japan was a member of the MTV Asia Awards, which covered all Asian nations due to the musical diversity in Japan and began holding their awards separately in May 2002. MTV Video Music Japan renamed the 2011 ceremony MTV Video Music Aid Japan 2011 on June 25, 2011, in response to the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. 3. Japan Gold Disc Award 

The Japan Gold Disc Award is a significant music awards ceremony hosted by the Recording Industry Association of Japan each year. Its first ceremony took place in 1987. The award, based on the net sales of the works released the previous year.

4. Japan Cable Award

The National Cable Music Broadcasters Association sponsors the Japan Cable Honours, an annual set of music awards. Since 1968, the awards have been given out yearly based on audience requests supplied by cable broadcasters.

5. Space Shower Music Award

The Japanese Space Shower TV hosts an annual series of music awards known as the Space Shower Music Awards. Since 1996, the rewards have been given out. 6. Japan Lyricist Award

The Japan Lyricist Honours are a collection of yearly awards presented by the Japan Lyricists' Association. Since 1968. The award ceremony has been produced over the years by NHK and NTV, then, beginning with the 27th Awards, by TV Tokyo.

7. Suntory Music Award

The Suntory Music Award, formerly known as the Torii Music Award, has been given by the Suntory Music Foundation since its inception in 1969 to promote Western music in Japan. The award is granted yearly to individuals or groups who have made the most significant contribution to the development of Western or current music in Japan in the preceding year. The current reward is 7,000,000 yen (about $70,000 USD). Every year a Suntory Music Award Commemorative Concert is conducted in Suntory Hall to introduce and disseminate the recipient's music.

8. Billboard Japan Music Awards 

Billboard Japan Music Awards are an annual set of music awards created by Billboard Japan, the Japanese online edition of Billboard. The awards recognise both Japanese and international musicians who had the best performances in the Billboard Japan charts throughout the year. Different awards, based on different formulae that include chart data and public votes. The primary prize, Artist of the Year, is decided entirely by popular voting. The honours are presented at an annual awards ceremony involving performances by well-known performers.

9. JASRAC Award

JASRAC annually bestows the JASRAC Awards to copyright holders whose musical compositions account for a substantial portion of royalty distribution. The JASRAC Awards are given out depending on the number of royalties earned over a year, from April to March. The Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards are given to the three domestic works with the highest total royalties, and the Foreign Work Award is given to the foreign musical work with the highest total royalties, and the International Award is given to the work with the highest amount of royalties from foreign copyright societies.

10. CD Shop Awards 

The CD Shop Honours are a collection of music awards given out in Japan every year. It is sponsored by the All-Japan CD Store Clerks Union and determined by votes cast by CD shop clerks throughout Japan. It is known as a "Music edition of the Japan Booksellers' Award."
