If you enjoy movies and keep up with the current releases in Japan, you will undoubtedly have a list of favorite Japanese actresses to accompany those titles. But what about action movie ladies from Japan? Which of these celebrities are you familiar with, and which of their films is your favorite?
1. Tao Okamoto
After the casting of Okamoto in the X-Men series film 'The Wolverine' in 2013, her acting career took off. She has since been in the TV shows 'Hannibal' and 'The Man in the High Castle' and worked in the film 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' released in 2016.
2. Chiaki Kuriyama
Kuriyama is most known for her work in Japanese films and television shows, but you might recognize her as Gogo Yubari from 'Kill Bill volumes 1 and 2, in which she played a strange adolescent with a penchant for murder.
3. Rinko Kikuchi
Kikuchi is a writer, director, and actress who has appeared in several Western and Japanese films. You might recognize her from the movie Babel,' 'The Brothers Bloom,' and 'Pacific Rim.'
4. Koyuki
Because she mainly appears in Japanese films, this actress is somewhat unknown in Hollywood. You might recognize her from the 2003 picture 'The Last Samurai.' Before she became an actress, she was a popular model, having signed with the magazine Non-no.
5. Naoko Mori
Naoko Mori's acting career has thus far consisted of appearances on TV dramas such as "Casualty," "Absolutely Fabulous," and "Midsomer Murders."On the other hand, could Mori be the next big thing in the world of Asian actresses? She got cast in the 2015 film 'Everest.'
6. Tamlyn Tomita
Tomita is an actress who mainly appears in American films and television series. Her most prominent roles are 'The Karate Kid,' 'The Day After Tomorrow,' 'Four Rooms,' and 'Babylon 5: The Gathering.' She has also appeared in several major American television shows, including 'Glee,' 'Heroes,' 'Bones,' 'True Blood,' and 'CSI Miami.'
7. Mie Hama
When a producer called Tomoyuki Tanaka found Hama, she worked as a bus charge collector, and she soon began working for Toho Studios. Even though Hama hasn't been in a film in over 25 years, she is still known for her performances in the King Kong films and as the Bond Girl in 'You Only Live Twice.'
8. Erika Toda
She has appeared in films such as LIAR GAME, Death Note Series 4, The Final Stage, Prophecy (Yokokuhan), and Blade of the Immortal. The upcoming Death Note film was a huge issue last year. The film depicted the world after Light's death. Despite the addition of several new characters, Erika Toda resumed her role as Misa Amane.
9. Tao Tsuchiya
She is a highly active individual. She attended a high school that allowed show business jobs and was a dance club member that participated in a national championship while she was working. After graduating from high school, she went to Japan Women's College of Physical Education and majored in dance studies. We can't keep our gaze away from her future actions since she makes the most acceptable use of her multi-talents! She recently starred in the film Alice in Borderland.
10. Masami Nagasawa
Touch, ROUGH, Gaku, Moteki, Kiyoku Yawaku, Umimachi Diary, I Am a Hero, Kingdom, and Gintama are among the films that were released.
She has appeared in almost 30 films since her debut in 2000. She portrayed the heroine in Moteki and questioned the sensual sequences, leading her to tread new territory.
