The film’s plot revolves around a man who kills his wife and son in the rage of his anger. After the incident, anyone who visits the home has to go through a horrifying curse. Ju-On has released eight-film series under its franchise from 2000 to 2015.
3. Rurouni Kenshin
Rurouni Kenshin is a Japanese action film that got released in 2012. The film story is based on the manga series called Rurouni Kenshin. Nobuhiro Watsuki wrote the manga series, and Keishi Otomo directed the film. The movie’s plot is set up in 1868. After the end of the Bakumatsu war, Kenshin Himura, an ex-assassin comes to Japan with a mysterious sword that helps him protect the needy without shedding blood. The first sequel of which got released in 1954. Ishiro Honda directed the first-ever Godzilla, and Toho released the films. The series has 37 movies under its franchise from 1954 to 2021.
5. Tokyo Ghoul
Tokyo Ghoul is a Japan-based dark fantasy film, an action-filled movie that got released in 2017. The film is based on the manga series of the same name. Shui Ishida wrote the manga series, and Kentaro Hagiwara directed the film version. The film’s plot unfurls around a college student. He is attacked by a flesh-eating being called Ghoul. But later, he received an organ from the ghoul itself, that makes him a part monster. The series has two films under its sequel from 2017 to 2019.
6. Parasyte
Parasyte is a Japanese sci-fi action-horror film that got released in 2014. The film is based on the manga series called Parasyte. Hitoshi Iwaaki wrote the manga series, and Takashi Yamazaki directed the film. The movie’s plot revolves around aliens. They are named Parasites. When they invade earth, they start infecting human beings by entering their brains. But, when they tried to enter the brain of a high school student Shinichi Izumi, they infected his right hand instead of his brain. It helped the boy to remain conscious as a human, and after some time, he made Parasite his friend and named him Migi. The series has two films under his franchise from 2014 to 2015.
7. Otoko Wa Tsurai Yo
Otoko wa Tsurai yo is a Japanese film series that was released in 1969. The film’s plot revolves around a generous and kind man who is never lucky in his love life. The series has released 49 films under its franchise from 1969 to 1997. Yoji Yamada directed the entire film series except few of them.
8. Torakku Yaro
Torakku Yaro is a Japanese action-comedy film that got released in the year 1975. Norifumi Suzuki directed every film in the series. The film’s plot revolves around two guys who own heavily decorated trucks. The story is about their adventurous journey across Japan. Tomie is a Japanese supernatural film series. It is based on the manga series. The film's plot revolves around a pretty young girl Kawakami, she is known for the mole on her face under the left eye. 10. Megalopolis Expressway Trial
Megalopolis Expressway Trial is a Japanese film series that got released in 1988. The film's plot revolves around the illegal highway racing taking place on the Shuto Expressway. Yoshihiro Tsukada, Shuji Kataoka, and Katsuji Kanazawa directed the film. The series has six movies under its franchise from 1988 to 1996.
