1. The Ring

The Ring is a 1998 horror-thriller movie, which is a movie adaptation of a book that is the story of a woman and her husband who investigate a bunch of deaths that turn out ugly. It was originally directed by Hideo Nakata and is in the Japanese language. Later its remake was made in Hollywood in the English language and was released in 2002 was directed by Gore Verbinski.

 

2. The Grudge

Ju-On or The Grudge is a Japanese movie that is considered one of the finest Asian horror movies that were released back in 2002. It is written and directed by Takashi Shimizu and is loved by fans a lot. It was copied by Hollywood two years later and a movie with the same name and story directed by the same director came out in 2004 in the English language.

 

3. Pulse

Pulse movie that came out in 2006 is a horror and thriller movie directed by Jim Sonzero in which some mysterious things rob people and lead to an epidemic of suicide. It is the remake of a 2001 Japanese movie which is the adaptation of a book and was directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

1983 Japanese movie named Antarctica is the story of Huskies and how they survived the harsh winters at Japan’s East Antarctica station in 1957. Hollywood copied this movie and gave it a new name Eight below in which star actor Paul Walker was the main lead. This adventure and family movie came in 2006.

 

8. Last Man Standing

Yjimbo is a 1961 action and drama movie which is the story of a nameless Samurai who has no master and he comes to a new city. Directed by Akira Kurosawa, it also has a sequel named Sanjuro. Its credited westernized version came in 1996 named Last Man Standing.

 

9. The Yellow Handkerchief

Directed by Yoji Yamada, The Yellow Handkerchief is a 1977 drama movie about a road trip. This amazing movie won the first-ever award at Japan Academy prizes. It was adapted by Hollywood in 2008 and has a rating of 6.7 on IMDb.

 

10. One Missed Call

Released in the early 2000s, One Missed Call is a mystery movie in which a lot of people received a voice call from their future self. Directed by Takashi Miike, this movie will tie knots in the heads of viewers. Its Hollywood copy came in 2008, which stared Shannyn Sossamon as the lead.
