A young girl called Wu Ru Yi of Jingzhou County was chosen to join the Tang Dynasty's imperial harem in 637 AD. Ru Yi was the best dancer among the girls and stood out from the crowd. She attracted king Tai Tang Li Shi Min's Love and admiration during a performance, giving him the appellation Meiniang, meaning elegant lady. She was 14 years old, while he was 39 at the time. It is based on Tang Qi Gong Zi's 2015 xianxia book of the same name. From January 30 to March 1 2017, the series was shown on Zhejiang TV and Dragon TV. The series became the most-viewed television show worldwide on August 1 after receiving 50 billion views.

He mistrusts Chu Qiao and frequently abuses her affection and loyalty, oblivious to their bond and the sacrifices he would have to make to gain power. Chu Qiao finally ends her engagement with Yan Xun because she is dissatisfied with him and decides to fight alongside Yuwen Yue, foiling Yan Xun's intentions for retribution. Ultimately, she persuades Yuwen Yue to liberate the nation from slavery, winning the public's admiration as a brilliant military strategist and female general.
