Pop music culture is now at its peak. During the pandemic, the Hallyu wave started everywhere in the world. In particular, the growth of K-POP, J-POP, and C-POP is so significant now. Concerning Asian pop music K-pop, j-pop, and c-pop each have their audience. compared to c-pop and j-pop, k-pop has an audience base from kids to adults.

1. Visuals

The k-pop, c-pop, and j-pop idols are well-known for their visuals. In K-POP mainly, they give more importance to their looks. We can see it in their music videos. They have a huge fan base for their visuals. There is not much difference in the visuals of both J-pop and C-POP. J-POP is famous for its cute visuals they, call it "kawaii" in Japanese. C-POP is known for its tallest idols.

 

2. MV (Music Videos)

The way of producing music videos varies from each other. In K-pop, they use advanced technologies like virtual reality to take their music to another level. We can see it in the song produced by Korean pop band 'BTS' and the western pop band 'COLDPLAY' made collaborated and produced the song ‘MY UNIVERSE', the theme of the song is music has no language. Every K-pop group has to produce music albums within the stipulated time. Every album contains many songs. They have to make a new album for their comeback. J-Pop and C-Pop groups also release albums, but not many songs like K-Pop the two of them occasionally released their album.

 

5. Fandom

Every pop group has its fandom. Every fandom has a specific name. In k-pop, the fans of "BTS" are called “army," and the fans of "SHINEE" are called “shawol". Like in Japan, the fans of "BAND-MAID" are called “MAID/MISTRESS" and the fans of "ORBIT" are called” EARTH". The C-pop group ‘NCT' fans are called ‘NCTian’.

 

6. Training

Being a K-pop idol is not that easy they endured many struggles during their training period. The training period is mandatory for K-pop but, in c-pop and j-pop, there is no compulsory training period.

 

7. Privacy

Besides idols, they are also humans like us. Kpop idols do not have privacy due to their popularity at the global level they, have to change their makeover when they go out. J-pop and c-pop idols do not face these kinds of issues. Since Fans won’t disturb them in their private time, however, the paparazzi won't leave them to live peacefully.

 

8. Solo Artists

C-pop and J-pop have so many solo artists. In J-pop, they have Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Naomi Amuro, Arashi, etc.., in, C-pop, the solo artists are Chang Chen Yue, Bi Wenjun, Danny Chan, Eason Jan, etc. Kpop has the least number of solo artists. some of them are IU, Jay Park, Eric Nam, PSY, etc.,

 

9. Award

In South Korea, they conduct exclusive award functions for k-pop groups it, was telecasted through live stream. Awards are given based on their achievement in the year. C-POP and J-POP too run award functions but not in a grandeur manner like K-POP.

 

10. Shows

Kpop is famous for conducting concerts they often conduct concerts in European countries because of their huge fan base. Their concerts are known for the Fanchant and lightsticks used by fans to support their favourite groups. Concert-conducting culture is a little less in c-pop and j-pop compared to k-pop.
