Drama digest:

The series is about Vampires and humans with Vampire-like powers interacting with each other.

The feel-good factor:

The story overall is said to be exceptional and a huge hit among the audience. The twists, the personalities, the vampires, everything makes up for a fantastic plot. The character designs, animation, and music are also spectacular.

The disappointing factor:

There is hardly any mistake on the show that the viewers can find disappointing.

In-depth analysis:

The series portrays two types of vampires, those born under the crimson moon and those born under the blue moon. Both the vampires are different and stay reserved from the vampires born under the other moon. The entire story is dependent upon the book ‘The case study of Vanitas.’ The vampires in this book are said to be harmless. They also seem to have some similarities to the human race and don’t necessarily suck human blood. Blood drinking is not mandatory for these vampires, except if they have blood addiction or Malnomen(a disease in which a vampire becomes the rabid and uncontrollable obsession of sucking human blood. If they don’t get blood, they go insane). The book of Vanitas is now in the hands of a human named Vanitas. But contrary to the original purpose of the book, Vanitas, a person who calls himself a doctor of the vampires, uses the book to cure the Malnomen disease. The protagonist, Vanitas, is a young pale-skinned man who was raised among Vampires. He was taken by a father of a church where he was given the training to be a Chasseur. Soon after, he was injected with the blood of a vampire, and he was one of the only people whose body did not reject the vampire blood. This made him a human with some supernatural powers. He seemed like a reckless and average human being on the outside, but was an exceptionally intelligent human. Nobody knew what was ever going on in Vanitas’s mind. The series revolves around him and his interactions with Vampires. Ultimately, Vanitas is killed by his best friend and potential romantic interest Noé.

Star power:

The relationship between the two protagonists is the show’s highlight. The relationship between Noé and Vanitas keeps ranging from platonic to romantic and something in between. Despite everything, they help each other, stand by each other and understand each other like nobody else.

Overall opinion:

It was a unique blend of romance and friendship and everything in between. The vampires are attractive to look at, which makes the series worth watching.
