Drama Digest

Nasa Yuzaki is determined to make history. He ranks first in the national mock exam and has a bright future mapped out for him. Things, however don’t go his way as one fateful snowy day changes the course of his life. He spotted a beautiful person across the street and got distracted, which led to a truck accident. The girl’s swift actions saved his life. He watched her leave the way Princess Kaguya left for the moon. He forced his injured body to chase after her as he didn’t want the meeting to end and eventually asked her out. She agrees to go out with her on the condition that he will marry her.

The Feel-Good Part

The simplicity of the story is rare to come by in anime series these days. The show focuses on romance without any drama outside of it. It is a light-hearted show that has certain comedic elements, which makes it quite easy to watch. It makes for great escapist media as the characters feel like they are in a world of their own. The art style is cute and quite pleasant to the eye, which suits the bright tone of the show. The Original Soundtrack is great and utilized well throughout the show, which is an engaging aspect of the series.

The Disappointing Factor

To some viewers, the story is too simplistic; it doesn’t do enough to hold the viewer’s attention. The comedy cues and characters often come off as childish and rely on very generic tropes that could get boring very quickly. The plot thickens at a certain point, which gives rise to questions that are never answered, which gets frustrating, especially since there isn’t much of a story to work with. A lot of the story doesn’t make sense, especially the titular aspects such as the characters’ motives, which may either be because they aren’t well-developed or the plot relies too much on absurdity, which is also relatively uninteresting. The dialogues don’t flow naturally for a show that relies so heavily on its slice-of-life concept, which is distracting and frustrating to watch.

In-Depth Analysis

The structure of the series is that of a shonen anime. Everything from the comedy to the romance sits in this. The plot and characters are not the show’s central attraction even though they should be, as it is hard to hold the audience’s attention. The highlight is no doubt the music and other technical aspects. The primary mistake of the show is that it chooses style over substance, which gets tired quickly. It may still be entertaining for people who are new to shonen anime as well as those looking for an easy and straightforward show to watch.

Star Power

All the performances were great; each actor played their character well.

Overall Opinion

In a sea of great romance anime shows, this one can get lost quite easily, and for good reason. It isn’t a bad watch by any means it’s, just pretty mediocre.
