The day I became a God, with its Japanese title ‘Kamisama ni Natta hi,’ is an anime television series that tells the story of a young girl Hina Satou. The story features Hina entering the life of a boy Yota Narukami during his summer vacations and informing him that the world is about to end in 30 days, along with the spilling of the fact that she is a god named ‘Odin.’ Even though finding difficulty in believing her proclamations, he gives her a chance to prove herself before him. Eventually, the story takes a sharp turn bringing massive plot twists. Watch out for the series to learn more about it.

The Feel-Good Part

The best part of the anime is that it successfully brought a roller coaster of emotions. The way the relationship develops between Yota and Hina was portrayed beautifully. It also includes themes like fantasy, a slice of life, romance, comedy, and even supernatural activity, which is rare in animes nowadays. The other factors that made it stand out from the crowd are its refined art style, animation, and, more specifically, the outstanding music.

The Disappointing Factor

The main factor that disappoints is that the ending was not exactly as expected. The changes made at the end were unacceptable for many and is described as awful and disgusting. They could have added a bit more romance and given more attention to the other supporting characters. The character’s background was also shallow and could have been a little more profound. There are also a lot of bugs and loopholes in the storyline.

In-Depth Analysis

The day I became a god is the third original anime written by Jun Maeda. It is a phenomenal story with a very intriguing storyline. There were no interruptions to the flow of the story, and the artwork is also excellent. It gives a mixture of emotions ranging from super funny to kind, sweet, sad, regretful, and angry. The character developments are also quite good. It gives an insight into how humanity works and provides more details about human nature through examples of the various characters. In totality, it is a masterpiece.

Star Power

The characters in the series have been voiced amazingly by the respective artists and helped to bring originality and life to them. The artwork or animation was also outstanding.

Overall Opinion

The series captured the hearts of many of its viewers successfully. The plot is pretty complicated, but regardless of it all, it is truly a must-watch and is worth a try. The beginning is pretty much light-hearted and bright until it takes its final dark turn, which is very heartbreaking. It has a bittersweet ending which provides both joyfulness and sadness. The storyline isn’t that easy to grasp, but still, it’s a short one with 12 episodes, so it won’t pose much of a time loss.
