Drama Digest

Tamahiko Shima lost his mother and disabled his arm in an accident. His father and other family members shunned him. He accepts this and moves to the mountains, waiting for death to end his misery. Yuzuki Tachibana, 14, knocks on his home one winter night and declares that she has come to be his future wife. His father sent her to him. Yuzuki demonstrates thoughtfulness, diligence, and devotion to Tamahiko. Will the world-weary adolescent be indifferent to the rare breath of kindness she provides to his mundane existence?

The Feel-Good Part

This anime is a charming slice-of-life romance with plenty of warm feelings. It is also aesthetically pleasing and nailed the 1920s aura.

The Disappointing Factor

The narrative did not mesh nicely at some moments. As a result, the plot appeared to be out of rhythm.

In-Depth Analysis

This story, set in the early 1920s, felt much like a period piece. If nothing else, it reinforced the notion that many facets of daily life were vastly different between now and then. Taishou Otome Otogibanashi knew how to persuade you that its main characters should be together; the two suited each other so beautifully. The anime gave us someone to hate. It was Tamahiko’s father in this circumstance. Tamahiko and Yuzuki’s status in this intrinsically unequal society was leveled by portraying Tamahiko’s father as a ruthless businessman who cared more about his family’s names than his actual family. The anime deals with a few heavy subjects like being disowned, depression, and trauma. But the anime handled it in a lighthearted way. The anime not only focused on the couple but also gave limelight to the supporting characters and their back-story.

Star Power

Tamahiko and Yuzuki are polar opposites. It was portrayed very well in the anime. There is also considerable character development between the both.

Overall Opinion

This anime leans toward romance than comedy. It is a sweet show to binge.
