Drama Digest –

Kanon Shibuya is devastated when she is not selected for Yuigoaka Girls High, which is her dream school for pursuing her musical dreams, just because she is frightened of showcasing her talent on stage. She is disappointed up to this level after she decides to leave music altogether. Her classmate Keke Tang uplifts her spirits and gives her another chance of pursuing her dreams by motivating her to form a school idol group. Ren Hazuki, the daughter of the school’s director, objects to her strong efforts and demotivates her for her dreams. Kanon, along with her friend’s pure intentions, is focused to face the challenges to follow her passion.

The Feel-Good Part –

Kanon’s strong intentions of pursuing her dreams amidst a lot of difficulties are inspiring enough for a widespread amount of young audience who wants to follow their dreams in music. This field has always been a controversial one, and this segment is highlighted greatly in this series. Keke’s support for Kanon is an important factor of this show, and it is shown intricately. The catharsis of the show focuses mainly on connecting to the audience and goes to a different road of instilling joy and laughter in the audience. There is no romantic tension between any character, which is an unconventional road to follow, and it is appreciated for an anime to go for.

The Disappointing Factor –

Despite being an inspiring story, the story is not new enough to excite the audience. Such similar stories had already been made and had been much of a success and a cult classic for all. Some parts of the story are overdramatic and overhyped, like when Leila’s squad interrupts Hazuki and gives an inconsistent speech on how great her group is. Ren Hazuki is too controversial a character, where on one side she opposes Kanon’s ideals but then shows her inappropriate bitter past.

In-Depth Analysis –

Inspired by a famous anime, this show is heartwarming. The animation and visuals for the show are well made. The voice acting is excellent, and the music is well-executed. The characters are adorable, with funny dialogues and solid acting. The overall crux of the story is very inspiring and amazing to watch, with the seriousness and fun kept alive in their respective positions.

Star Power –

Kanon’s character is well-scripted for the main lead of the show. She is elegant and has a lot of potential for music. She has a strong motive for fulfilling her dreams but scares the stage the most. She is kind and compassionate. While Keke is lovable with a firm pride. She is bright and talkative and has no feelings of jealousy for Kanon. She is confident in Kanon. Arashi is Kanon’s childhood friend and is serious and not interested in music herself, but she is sympathetic and supportive of Kanon.

Overall Opinion –

Someone who prefers to watch modern anime with serene visuals will love it.
