Drama digest:

This is a story of a young orphan girl named Fena Houtman, who is a Britisher. Due to some reason, she’s captured by some people and made to work in a brothel. Years later, she thinks of a strategy to escape the island by marrying an I’ll-tempered British man named Maxiver Jr. Even though she fails at first, this is a story about her escape from a beautiful life.

The feel-good factor:

The show is based on historical times, so it keeps portraying flashbacks now and then, which is a delight to watch. Every character in the show seems to be well-written. The animation, music, and special effects all feel surreal.

The disappointing factor:

Even though Fena is the lead of the drama, she keeps relying on other people to help her and does nothing independently. Moreover, the title is misleading about Fena being a pirate princess, while she is not a pirate. Plus, there’s much more focus on romance and melodrama than sword fights or war scenes.

In-depth analysis:

Fena, a young blonde girl with fair skin, is a Britisher by origin. She had lost both her parents in a shipwreck and since been an orphan leading a miserable life. She was forcefully taken to a mysterious where she works as a servant at a brothel and where the British soldiers harass her. One day, fena’s marriage to an old I’ll-tempered man called Maxvier Jr. is fixed. This was entirely against Fena’s will. To escape this obligatory marriage, Fena devises a plan to flee away with the man’s money. Even though she initially faces obstacles, she later succeeds in escaping with the help of two other unknown acquaintances. It’s after arriving on the Goblin Island that Fena finds out the truth about her father’s final voyage that ended his life. On his voyage, he was in search of a place called ‘Eden’ where he had something important to protect. Hence, to fulfill this impending wish of her father, Fena sets out on a mission to find out the truth. On this journey, she also reunites with a long-lost friend, named Yukimaru. As time passes, Fena is crowned as the captain of the warrior crew and faces challenges on her journey more than ever.

Star power:

The one on whom the story is based is the show’s star. Her rise from a poor orphan girl to a princess, is an unimaginable one. Her beauty mesmerizes everyone. So, the star of the show is none other than, Fena herself.

Overall opinion:

The theme of the show is pirate-based which is enjoyable to watch. It’s a treasure hunt that is being attempted by good-looking characters making it a visually appealing show. But, nothing about the story is deep; hence it can be a good watch for passing some of your time.
