Anime Digest

The series follows Shidou Itsuka, who learns about the origin of extraordinary creatures called “spirits” that have caused spatial quakes to injure and cause the deaths of several people. He comes across an anti-spirit squad through whom he learns that the only way to stop this is to go on dates with them and seal the deal with a kiss.

The Feel-Good Part

The series showcases wonderfully illustrated scenes that engage the viewers even more than its previous parts. Plus, the episodes keep improving, which is a plus point.

The Disappointing Factor

The characters lack creativity and development, which might disappoint viewers who have watched the series since part one was released. Also, it feels rushed, and the episodes feel off at times, which might hinder one from watching it.

In-Depth Analysis

An unparalleled catastrophe that became known as a “spatial quake” killed more than 100 million people three decades ago. Since then, people have developed preventative measures, such as immediate evacuation procedures and swift reconstruction of any structural damage, to lessen the harm caused by future disasters. Shidou Itsuka is sixteen years old and shares a home with his sister Kotori. He receives warnings, but one day he is trapped in a spatial earthquake. He somehow escapes the blast and encounters a mystery female who he soon learns is a “spirit”—supernatural entities that are the origin of these space quakes. Coincidentally, he discovers the existence of the “Anti-Spirit Team,” a specialist military squad entrusted with using force to extinguish these spirits. Shidou is persuaded to join Ratatoskr, an organization led by his sister that aims to peacefully lessen the threat posed by spirits, as if these disclosures weren’t disturbing enough already. Shidou, Ratatoskr’s new weapon, must negate the Spirits’ abilities to stop them from wreaking more damage. His strategy was to take them out on dates and close the deal with a passionate kiss. He has to face several obstacles on the way. Given all of the difficulties he has faced so far, Shidou Itsuka’s work with Ratatoskr is far from complete. Now, Shidou finds a famished woman on the street and decides to help her, breaking from his everyday routine. The lady identifies herself as Nia Honjou, a well-known manga artist who works under a pseudonym, once the two have arrived at her flat. To get right to the point, Nia admits that she is also a spirit and is aware of Shidou’s covert plan. Nia dares Shidou to get her to go on a date so she may experience his charm for herself. Shidou discovers more about Nia and her relationship with Deus Ex Machina Industries, a company whose name is all too familiar to him. At the same time, he searches for a chance to lock her talents.

Star Power

Shindo as the main character, lacks the uniqueness one might expect him to have. Tohka appears to be similar to several other characters in different animations.

Overall Opinion

This is an excellent watch for those who are willing to watch the whole series and are dedicated to completing the long journey they’ve been through.
