Drama Digest

Kimichika Haijima, a brilliant setter, relocates from Tokyo to Fukui after being kicked off his school’s volleyball team due to an incident. He meets up with Yuni Kuroba, a boy’s volleyball player for Monshiro Middle School, who is his boyhood friend but does not know his abilities. After recognizing Kuroba’s talents, Haijima is motivated to create a new volleyball team with Kuroba as its star player. The Monshiro team disintegrates after losing at the prefectural competition when Kuroba gives out under pressure. The defeat also causes a breach between Kuroba and Haijima, which prompts the former to leave the squad. Haijima and Kuroba are again on the same volleyball squad as high school students at Seiin. Haijima, who has learned from his past errors, assists Kuroba in getting over his performance anxiety so that he may become the star and lead the squad to the prefectural title. Seiin hopes to win the prefectural and represent Fukui at the Spring Tournament with the help of team captain Shinichirou Oda and vice-captain Misao Aoki. They must defeat the current Fukui champions, Fukuho Technical High School. Will Haijima’s team overcome the odds, or are they destined to continue his losing streak?

The Feel-Good Part

The volleyball matches included incredible sound effects and animation. The plot is both fantastic and incredibly intriguing.

The Disappointing Factor

The anime series moves slowly, which may cause viewers to lose interest in viewing it. Besides the volleyball matches, there needs to be development in the arts and animation.
