The Feel-Good Part

The show The story of Yojouhan Time Machine Blues is based on a straightforward and exciting idea. The writers know what they’re doing, and it’s so much entertaining. The sound effects are amazing. They complement the behavior of the characters. As for the characters, it’s very dreamy, and each one is very peculiar in its way.

The Disappointing Factors

The biggest disappointing factor of the show is that it is pointless because it doesn’t do anything. There is no character development and no story progression. The tempo is also a little slow. Other than that, there is no major disappointing factor in the show.

In-Depth Analysis

The story of Yojouhan Time Machine Blues, also known as The Tatami Time Machine Blues, follows Ozu, the main character’s “terrible friend,” who accidentally submerges the remote control for the apartment’s only air conditioner. They discuss their situation with the protagonist’s black-haired lover, Akashi, a time-traveling college student who arrives twenty-five years from the future dressed in chips and traps the protagonist into borrowing his travel plane for enough time to try to grab the remote control before it breaks. Ozu is hilarious, and each character has their comedic moments. It offers a fun story and does it very well. The anime has excellent characters, they all feel real and grounded in a way that other anime often can’t, and the animation itself is very sharp and beautiful. The writer immerses the hero (and the audience) in a comically meaningless absurd world,  leads him carefully through the ridiculous chaotic monsters, gradually justifying the surrounding reality, towards an optimistic, romantic ending, overcoming the chaos and the absurdity of life.

Star Power

The star power of the anime is the relationship between our protagonist and his friends as they deal with various absurd problems that come with time travel.

Overall Opinion

The story of Yojouhan Time Machine Blues also known as The Tatami Time Machine Blues offers stunning visuals, tons of humor, an interesting and challenging plot, and exciting characters, all wrapped up in one package. The diversity of the cast makes the spin-off fun and memorable and the story lively and intelligent. The story is like a big-time travel puzzle, and the way it unfolds is well done. Overall, it’s a hilarious, easy-to-watch show.
